Julia has published 44 books of poetry, and won the American Book Award of the Before Columbus Foundation. She has a B. A. from the University of California at Berkeley and an M. F. A. from the University of Iowa. For twenty eight years Julia has been an icon on Berkeley streets, blowing bubbles for kids and selling her books of poetry.
